Winners of the prestigious "No Child Left Behind" Blue Ribbon Award,The Sea Girt Elementary School boasts a student teacher ratio of 18 to 1 and an academic excellence among their students that is one of the best in the State of New Jersey according to their application for Blue Ribbon Status.
In the 2003-2004 school year, student attendance was at 97% and teacher attendance was at 98%. There were 179 students and 16 full time classroom teachers. The per pupil expenditure was $12,866 while the average State of New Jersey expenditure was $9,312.
The performing arts program consists of drama productions, class plays, chorus, band, and music lessons. Students can join the computer club, safety patrol, forensics, and the school newspaper staff.
Students visit nursing homes, run food and clothing drives for the needy, and prepare Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets
In 2003-04, Sea Girt Elementary School is the only school in the state to have 100% of students score Advanced Proficient and Proficient on both the GEPA and NJASK4. The GEPA measures Language skill and the NJASK4 measures math skill.
